The countdown is on for one of the region’s biggest days of giving, as the annual Radiothon for Local Healthcare returns Thursday, October 15.
The 10-hour fundraising broadcast will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 88.1 myFM in Perth and 92.3 WOW FM in Smiths Falls, bringing communities together to support local hospitals.
This year’s Radiothon will raise money for three organizations:
- Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation
- Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital Foundation
- Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor Foundation
Money raised will help purchase vital medical equipment and support patient programs that aren’t covered by government funding.
But the Radiothon is about more than raising money. It’s also a celebration of the generosity of local residents and the personal stories that show just how important having quality healthcare close to home really is.
Throughout the day, listeners will hear stories about the impact of local healthcare, while volunteers from all three foundations help answer phones and collect donations.
Residents and businesses will be encouraged to contribute by calling 1-833-881-GIVE (4483) during the broadcast.
The day will wrap up with the announcement of the fundraising grand total just before 6 p.m. by Radiothon founder, Brian Perkin.
Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 15, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and help make a difference for local healthcare.
