The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital says its Internal Code Orange has been lifted following a full assessment.
Hospital officials say while the emergency status has ended, the hospital remains under significant capacity pressures and continues to closely monitor patient volumes.
The hospital thanked staff and physicians for their teamwork and dedication over the past week, along with the community for its patience and support during a challenging period.
Officials remind residents that emergency department teams assess every patient and prioritize care for the sickest individuals first. As a result, some patients may continue to experience longer wait times.
Residents who require immediate medical assistance are urged to call 911. Paramedics will provide care and transport patients to the nearest emergency department if needed.
For minor injuries or illnesses, the hospital encourages people to contact their primary care provider, use Health811 by calling 811, access the East Region Virtual Care Clinic, or consult a local pharmacist for advice and treatment.
