The Ontario Health Coalition is raising concerns about provincial funding cuts to long-term care.
The Coalition cites what it calls real dollar reductions and a per diem rate increase that doesn’t meet the rate of inflation.
The OHC is also critical of reduced spending by the government on special transition funds and how that affects municipally owned long-term care homes.
The OHC says it has financial data that show some municipalities in the province stand to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding per year.
myFM is working to find out if any long term care facilities in the Huron and Bruce will face financial difficulties because of the lower funding amounts.
