Apparently “slow” continues to be a four-letter word to many motorists who drive in Saugeen Shores.
Saugeen Shores Police wrapped up their “Operation Slow Your Roll” campaign on Friday.
The 2-week traffic blitz netted 85 speeding charges, one of them for street racing.
During that same time period in 2018, police laid 12 charges for speeding.
The campaign was in response to people posting photos and videos of vehicles going at a high rate of speed in their neighbourhoods on the service’s official Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Police say they will continue to conduct high visibility enforcement.
