Speeding in school zones during school hours continues to be a concern for police in our region.
South Bruce OPP had all available officers out on patrol during the first week of the new school year (September 3rd to the 6th).
Six vehicles were stopped for speeding in a school zone during that period.
There were no reports of any collisions involving vehicles and/or pedestrians.
Staff Sergeant Paul Richardson says speed is an unacceptable risk on our roads that becomes even more dangerous in areas that we can expect our children to be walking in.
He adds his officers will continue with traffic enforcement each shift in the interest of public safety.
