School’s back on Monday.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced Sunday night that the Province and CUPE have reached a tentative agreement.
That means schools that were slated to close on Monday will be open.
55,000 clerical staff, custodians, and early childhood educators were set to go on strike Monday morning if no agreement was reached on the weekend.
Lecce said in a statement that parents can rest easy knowing that the government worked tirelessly to ensure their children remain in the classroom.
Details of the agreement will not be disclosed until all parties ratify the deal.
Education workers were without a contract since August 31st.
