Having the wrong license plate has led to drug charges for a Huron East man.
Huron County OPP stopped a minivan on Josephine Street in Wingham around 11:30 the morning of September 28th.
The officer made the stop after it was determined that the license plate was not registered to that vehicle.
A further investigation also revealed that the driver had no insurance and the vehicle’s sticker was invalid.
Police say while the officer was in the process of removing the plates from the vehicle, he noticed that the driver was trying to conceal a pill bottle.
A search determined that the drugs inside the bottle was methamphetamine.
A 50-year-old man was arrested and later released.
He is scheduled to appear in a Goderich court on October 28th.
