In the OHL. Owen Sound built a 3-0 lead before London came back to tie. Barrett Kirwin scored the winner as the Attack edged the Knights 5-4 in overtime.
In the PJHL. Wingham responded from their first loss of the season scoring three times in the first period and held on to beat the Kincardine Bulldogs 4-2. Rhys Vollmer had one of the Ironmen goals and says they needed to get off to a good start.
Bulldogs’ Mike Feigehan had one of the goals for Kincardine and says penalties hurt them early on.
Elsewhere, Eric Vander Eyk scored twice as Goderich earn their first win of the season beating Walkerton 5-1. Luke Hoelscher had a goal and 3 assists as Hanover thumped Mount Forest 7-2.
In WOAA. the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks win their home opener beating the Durham Thundercats 4-3 in a shootout.
