Ontario Catholic School teachers are the latest to give their union a strike mandate.
The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association announced on Wednesday that over 97 percent of their members voted in favour of taking job action if the union can’t reach a collective agreement with the Province.
Unit President for Bruce Grey Elementary Kristen Fry says her members in the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board are in full support of their union.
Fry says OETCA members are in a similar situation with other teachers unions in Ontario where they are fighting to maintain current class sizes, funding levels, and other issues.
The province has said they are focused on reaching a deal that will keep kids in classrooms.
