With the holiday shopping season underway, the Ontario Provincial Police detachment are working to help people prevent theft.
Consumers are asked to ensure their safety and security by taking a few precautions including keeping wallets and purses safely secured at all times.
Other ways to avoid theft is by using debit and credit cards rather than cash, but remember to always protect your PIN.
Avoid stand-alone ATM’s as many of those units are known to be targets of card skimming devices.
It’s also important to cover your packages in the trunk of your car with a blanket, and to then lock your vehicle and pocket your keys.
