High school students in Bruce County may be getting an unexpected holiday.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation announced last Thursday that teachers and education workers will be walking off the job this coming Wednesday to protest the lack of progress in contract negotiations with the province.
Union officials say the strike will last only one day, and teachers and education workers are expected to return to work the following day.
Members have been staging a work-to-rule with information pickets and the withdrawal of certain administrative duties.
The Bluewater District School Board’s strike contingency committee had a meeting on Monday to discuss what the plan is for Wednesday.
