All schools in the Bluewater District School Board are closed today due to a one day strike by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation.
A collective agreement between OSSTF and the provincial government has yet to be reached, so teachers across the province are out with picket signs, including about 40 teachers at Kincardine District Senior School.
Teachers at KDSS were unable to comment, but Vice-President of the Grey Bruce Labour Council, Dave Trumble, shared his thoughts on the strike.
He says the effect on students shouldn’t be a concern at this point.
In a statement from BWDSB, they said third party child care centres will remain open, and Community Education evening programs will continue to run.
All schools will be open on Thursday.
