Another one-day strike by high school teachers is happening and this time is will affect students in Bruce and Grey Counties.
The Bluewater District School Board announced that it will be closing schools on Wednesday in response to the decision by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation.
In a statement, Director of Education Alanna Murray says a full withdrawal of services will impede on their ability to ensure the safety and well-being of students at all grade levels.
She says elementary extracurricular activities and events planned during the school day will be rescheduled, if possible.
Murray says school based co-op placements will be cancelled, however, external placements will continue.
She says there will be no bus transportation for Bluewater District School Board students.
Before and after/extended day school programs will also be be cancelled however Murray says third party child care centres will remain open, and Community Education evening programs will continue to run.
The School Board says all regular classes will resume on Thursday.
