Kincardine is experiencing a bit of a building boom.
According to the Municipality’s 2019 Building and Planning Report, there were a total of 319 permits issued including 56 residential permits and 6 multi-residential permits.
Total value of the building permits was over $58,338,841.
Director of Building and Planning Michelle Barr says the number of permits and total value are both up compared to 2018.
She says the growth and development has been slow but steady.
Barr says since the start of Bruce Power’s Major Component Replacement Project, there has been growing interest of people wanting to move up to the Kincardine area to work and live.
She says getting the servicing in place for the land at the intersection of Highways 21 and 9 will open up more space for development.
