Residents in Wingham, Lucknow, Teeswater, and Blyth will soon not have to travel far to get a Big Mac.
McDonald’s franchise owner Rob Reid was at the Wingham Business Improvement Area meeting on Thursday to announced that a new McDonald’s restaurant will be opening in the town.
Reid and his wife Michelle own and operate locations in Kincardine, Goderich, and Exeter.
He says he was first approached by McDonald’s Canada about running the store in Wingham.
The new McDonald’s will be situated at the intersection of Amberley Road and County Road 4 in the south end of town.
Reid says the plan is to have the restaurant ready by this June.
He says they are also in the process of hiring staff for the new location.
