Monday is the first day members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation will not be performing additional duties.
This as the ongoing labour dispute between the four major teachers unions and the Provincial government is into its fifth month.
Last week, Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced that his government is conceding a number of union demands including class sizes and e-learning courses.
Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker says this shows the province is willing meet halfway.
Many teachers unions say the announcement by Lecce caught them by surprise and accused him of using the media to address their demands.
Walker defends Lecce saying he has been forthright from the beginning and wants a deal that is fair that will keeps students and teachers in class.
