The Alzheimer Society of Huron County received a donation from the local owner of McDonald’s.
Stores in Goderich, Exeter, and Wingham hosted World Alzheimer’s Day in September where proceeds from every coffee purchased goes to the local Alzheimer Society.
Franchise owner Rob Reid recently presented a cheque for $3,568.63.
The Society’s Community Outreach Events Coordinator Erin Dale says the money comes at a time where the pandemic has made fundraising difficult.
Dale says the funds will go to their telecare program were people with dementia can receive help and support from a volunteer over the phone.
