OPP welcomes rookie, Saugeen Shores Police promotes veteran

A promotion and a new recruit at a couple of police detachments in our area.

First, Saugeen Shores Police have promoted Jeremy Mighton to Inspector.

Mighton (right in photo) is an 18-year veteran who began his policing career in Guelph (in 2003) before moving to Hanover in 2006 and then his hometown of Saugeen Shores five years later (2011).

While with Saugeen Shores Police, he worked in the Criminal Investigation and Drugs unit and was promoted to Sergeant in 2016.

In Wiarton, the Grey Bruce OPP detachment welcomed Constable Sandy Heseltine (left in photo).

The Fergus native started out as a plumber before turning his attention to policing.
