Example of a tiny home
Cornerstone Landing Chair, and local affordable housing advocate, Terrilee Kelford has been working on getting approval to use the tiny home Cornerstone had built as a temporary home for youth in Lanark County.
Local municipalities are working on creating or altering zoning bylaws to allow the home on wheels, and others like it, to be legally installed on foundations on properties.
Kelford tells Lake 88 News the model they have generated is drawing lots of attention.
Kelford says, the model they are developing creates multiple affordable units on a smaller footprint.
The model could be replicated in communities across the county, the province, and even the country, to help house youth, seniors, vets, and first time home buyers to name but a few.
