Local Upper Canada District School Board students have created beautiful pieces of art that are now on display at the new Tay River Health Centre in Perth.
The new facility reached out to area schools to see if students would be interested in helping them decorate their walls with original art. The students didn’t disappoint.
The art also has a purpose. It’s a conversation starter for patients and health care providers, helps ease patient anxiety, and promotes a sense of community.
Four artists in Grade 6 at the Stewart School answered the call to create artwork. Heera Thind, Masha Smolentseva-Felepchuk, Mya Truelove, and Callie Wheeler’s works will be displayed in the centre for years to come.
You can see their pieces at our website lanarkleedstoday.ca.
