The moose that Lake 88 affectionately named “Marty the Moose” is going to be transferred to a safer, more natural habitat.
The large moose, who is approximately one year old, was spotted several times by the public over the past two weeks, in the town of Perth, near Port Elmsley and then today in Smiths Falls, along Lombard Street.
The Ministry of Natural Resources was called in earlier this afternoon to tranquilize and tag the moose. An official at the scene told Lake 88 that they’ll make sure Marty is healthy before they transfer him to a more natural habitat.
