Lanark Frontenac Kingston NDP Candidate in the provincial election, Drew Cumpson counts improving health care and addressing the housing shortage as key issues to address should he win the local seat on June 2nd.
Cumpson, a ventilator-dependant quadriplegic after an accident ten years ago, has a close relationship with the local healthcare system. He says he’ll focus on long-term care and home care, two issues he says go hand in hand.
As for long-term care specifically, he says:
The solution would be to expand inventory, something the NDP is promising to do alongside expanding housing options, another key plank in their platform and something Cumpson says needs to change here too.
Cumpson says fixing health care is not just about pouring money into the system but rather about developing targeted programs that will help address a wide variety of health related issues.
