OPP reminds the public that reporting crimes is easy, and just as effective for non-emergencies

The OPP is reminding us that their Online Reporting System is a convenient way to minor crimes.

It’s not for emergencies – for those you should still call 9-1-1.

The online system has been expanded to include the ability to report crimes online regardless of value.

You can report a number of crimes using the system, including (but not limited to): thefts from homes or vehicles, damage to property or vehicles, lost or missing property, stolen license plates, and driving complaints.

They note that what you report can’t involve injuries, have a suspect, or include evidence at the scene. For those situations call police directly.
