Smiths Falls Police Chief Mark MacGillivray is seen with new Deputy Police Chief Jodi Empey
The Smiths Falls Police Service Board says Staff Sergeant Jodi Empey is being promoted to Deputy Chief of Police effective July 1st.
Empey becomes the first woman to hold the role in the service’s history.
The soon-to-be-deputy Chief started with the Smiths Falls Police Service as a recruit in 1994, and has been dedicated to policing our community and giving back.
She has shown great leadership moving up the ranks and earning the respect of her peers and the public.
Chief Mark MacGillivray says he is very pleased with the decision and looks forward to working with Empey in her new role.
