Maple View Lodge in Athens is going through a substantial redevelopment.
A $70.5 million dollar contract was approved by Leeds-Grenville Council to help get it done.
We spoke with Alison Tutak, Deputy CAO for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. She says this is a huge moment for everyone involved.
She also explained what it means for residents, current and future.
The current 60 bed facility will be upgraded to a three-story, 192 bed building.
McDonald Brothers Construction is currently at work on the new facility, which is set for completion in the spring of 2025.
