Valerie Martin’s name came up as a natural choice to feature when we asked leadership at Lanark County Interval House who we should showcase as a dedicated volunteer.
Valerie is a past member of the board with the organization that helps women and children fleeing violence. But that’s just the beginning.
She’s helped run the organization’s “As Good as New” thrift shop and basically does whatever is asked of her. She’s also been a senior of the year for the town of Carleton Place, recognized for how much she gives back to the town and its people.
We asked her what she’s most proud of when it comes to her volunteer career.
She feels that volunteers can be the lifeblood of our communities.
