Outgoing Medical Officer of Health for the Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit Dr. Paula Stewart spent part of her last day in the role to talk to us about COVID-19, the Flu and what the viruses could mean for the fall.
Dr. Stewart says a new pattern emerged with the virus once Omicron took hold.
Stewart says that means there could be another spike come October, and the flu is already here.
The doctor says the flu season may have a more familiar look to it.
It all means we need to prepare by taking many of the precautions that we have been especially as the weather turns colder and people head inside to close proximity.
Dr. Linna Lei is the new Medical Officer of Health for the Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit. She begins in her new role today (Sept. 1st).
