
Niagara Region Public Health announced Tuesday that six people received an injection of a saline solution used to dilute the Pfizer COVOD-19 vaccine without the vaccine component.
COVID-19 Vaccine 2.0 is ready to be administered to residents of Ontario considered the most vulnerable.
The initial rollout will include people aged 70 and older, long-term care residents and health-care workers.
Indigenous people and their household members aged 18 and older, immunocompromised people aged 12 and older, pregnant people and health-care workers who are 18 and older are also eligible as of today.
The province says other people aged 18 and older can book bivalent booster shot for planning purposes.
The vaccine rollout comes after the province received its first shipment of the shots last week.
