Want to buy a clink? Local real estate listing is getting lots of attention

A local building up for sale is drawing national attention.

Its the jailhouse in Perth and its been featuring in national news.

The jailhouse predates Confederation and to put it mildly, needs some work. Local Realtor Ian Shackell says prospective buyers should be aware that the aging structure requires extensive renovations.

The current owner of the 1862 structure has it listed at 495-thousand-dollars. It includes 18 cells, gallows, a fortified courtyard and the unsavoury history, which includes three hangings.
