Voters just don’t seem to turn out to the polls when municipal elections roll around, despite it being the level of government that affects us most directly.
Beckwith Reeve Richard Kidd has been acclaimed for another term in office. Every other position in his community is being contested though. He says its important for people across our listening area to get out and vote, and to do so responsibly.
Kidd is urging people to vote across the region, for a reason.
We head to the polls across Lanark, Leeds, and Grenville on the 24th.
Even with a few acclamations in the region, there are still contests for deputies, councillors, and school board trustees.
