Perth’s Dan Jesty won a million dollars in a September Daily Keno Draw.
Dan’s been a regular lottery player for about 10 years and this isn’t his first big win, though it is his biggest. He won $118,000 on Poker Lotto back in 2015.
Dan says he first thought he won $1,000 but his girlfriend and daughter pointed out his mistake. He says, When I showed it to my girlfriend and daughter, they pointed out that it was actually $1 million,” he said. “I had a lot of feelings going through my mind. I just retired a year ago and here I am winning $1 million – I was shocked!”
“As soon as my kid found out, I heard ‘Dad, I want a new car!'” he laughed. “It’s hard to believe I’m a millionaire. It’s crazy that $1 to add ENCORE did me well!”
He’ll use the money to help his retirement, which started a year ago, pay some bills, share with family, and go on a trip. He’s also planning to get married.
No word on any cars being confirmed as gifts though.
