It was almost a clean sweep Monday night as Carleton Place voters removed the incumbent Mayor and Deputy Mayor and one incumbent Councillor.
Less than 200 votes separated mayoral front-runners incumbent Doug Black and Councillor Toby Randall in a tight race.
At the busy post election party Randall looked forward to the next term with hope.
Incumbents Linda Seccaspina and Jeff Atkinson will be working with local business owner Dena Comley, and Sara Cavanagh and Mark Hinton.
Top vote earner Seccaspina was emotional in her thanks to the community.
Carleton Place voted electronically for the first time and the unofficial results were posted just 30 minutes after the polls closed.
