Perth’s newest Mayor, Judy Brown, has plenty of experience in municipal politics as she enters her first year at the head seat.
Brown says she put the work in over the course of the campaign to get to know the council candidates and now that’s been sorted, they can get to work right away.
Brown thinks her ideology of working as a collective is what won her some votes and ultimately the top job over incumbent John Fenik.
In the early days of her term, Brown says she intends to consult with acclaimed deputy mayor Ed McPherson who publicly backed Brown during the campaign, and prioritize issues they want to address.
The six councillors for Brown’s inaugural term as mayor are David Bird, Jim Boldt, Isabel Anne McRae, Barry Smith, and Gary Waterfield.
