The province’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kieran Moore did as expected when he suggested that everyone should be wearing masks to help protect from a very active respiratory virus season.
The recommendations come just short of a mandate, like the ones we have experience with during other peaks of the pandemic.
The doctor says it’s to protect everyone and keep our hospitals functioning as the flu, RSV and COVID-19 continue to be found across the province.
Our local Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Linna Li agrees with the masking suggestion. She points out that the this is the season for respiratory illnesses.
The masks, she says are a great layer of protection.
We will go deeper into the story on Wednesday when Dr. Li joins us on In Focus after the News@Noon, only on Lake 88 and LanarkLeedsToday.ca.
