CKW Inquest Jury Recommendation no. 9 – Restorative Justice approach could play a role for survivors

We continue our look at each recommendation made by the Culleton, Kuzyk & Warmerdam inquest into intimate partner violence.

Today we look at no. 9 which says, Explore incorporating restorative justice and community-based approaches in dealing with appropriate IPV cases to ensure safety and best outcomes for survivors.

This falls under the System Approaches, Collaboration and Communication section of the recommendations.

Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee says the restorative justice approach can work in certain cases.

Lanark County Community Justice contacted Lanark County Interval House to become a partner in the restorative justice approach.
