Local officials are expressing her condolences on the loss of 31 year-old Ottawa Constable Drew Nadeau, a Perth man killed in a collision on highway 7 on Friday morning.
New Perth Mayor Judy Brown said in a statement emailed to Lake 88, “I would like to extend my most sincere condolences on behalf of the Council and staff of the Town of Perth to the family of Constable Nadeau. The whole community mourns the loss of this special young man. May we come together in support of the values he embodied.”
Nadeau was a former volunteer firefighter with the Perth Fire Department and veteran.
Fire Chief Trevor Choffe told us: “The Town of Perth is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Drew Nadeau. Drew dedicated his time to serving the communities that he was a part of. In addition to his work with the Ottawa Police Service, he joined Perth Fire Services as a Volunteer Firefighter earlier this year. Our condolences are with his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by many in our community who came to know him.”
The OPP continues to investigate the cause of the collision between Nadeau’s vehicle and a transport truck. Anyone witnesses are asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
