There’s another development in the story we brought you last week about a proposed gun range in Drummond/North Elsmley.
The group of concerned residents who don’t want it to be allowed say that some of their “No Gun Range” signs posted around the township have been removed.
It’s not known who took them out, but the group says eight of the signs, paid for by them, have been taken and two others have been damaged. They say its upsetting as they want to express their feelings about the range, peacefully.
One of them who reached out to Lake 88 says they’ll be calling the police.
The range has caused a divide in the community.
In our discussions last week, the owner of the range has said it will help safely train the next generation of hunters to use firearms. He also says that a noise study and environmental assessment have come back within allowable limits.
Those opposed are concerned about the noise it would produce and the potential impact to the Environment.
