CKW Inquest Jury Recommendation no. 10: Bring the issue of IPV into safety and well-being plans

We continue our look at each recommendation made by the Culleton, Kuzyk & Warmerdam inquest into intimate partner violence.

Today we look at no. 10: Encourage that IPV (Intimate Partner Violence) be integrated into every municipality’s community safety and well-being plan.

Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee says, once again, this is something that is already being done in our listening area.

Lee adds that county council is making sure that the fight against IPV is recognized in municipalities across Lanark.

Many communities have built mosaics and memorials to victims too. Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee says that’s a key step to get the public to relate and understand the gravity of the situation.
