Murder charges laid following inmate death at Millhaven Institution

The Ontario Provincial Police-led Joint Forces Penitentiary Squad has charged a suspect following a homicide at Millhaven Institution near Kingston.

On January 8^th, the Penitentiary Squad responded after the Correctional Service of Canada reported that an inmate had been located with life-threatening injuries.

29-year-old Victor James was later pronounced deceased.

Two days later on  January 10^th, David Staonton, currently an inmate at Millhaven Institution, was charged with second degree murder.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Napanee court January 26^th.
