Josh Hopkins turned his grief into art after his sister was one of three women murdered by their ex-partner in Renfrew County.
Following the 2015 slaying of Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk and Nathalie Warmerdam, the Juno-winning and Grammy nominated artist said he wanted to create.
Alongside composer Jake Heggie, Hopkins enlisted the help of world-renowned poet Margaret Atwood for the lyrics for Songs For Murdered Sisters, which is set to make its on-stage orchestral debut this month.
Hopkins said the words Atwood wrote struck a chord when thinking about his sister Nathalie.
Hopkins hopes you feel the emotions he does through the music if you attend one of the performances in Ottawa, Toronto or Kingston.
