The development of the new Maple View Lodge at the same Athens site continues.
The home is tripling its bedspace to 192, as part of an $88 million commitment.
United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Warden Nancy Peckford said the property is a cornerstone of what they represent.
County council recently approved a $3.1 million purchase of a nurse call system for the Lodge, which will allow patients to ask for extra help when they need it.
Peckford said that was a necessary investment.
Move in date for first residents is 2025.
