The Public Service Alliance of Canada strike has 155,000 public service workers and 35,000 Canada Revenue Agency workers off the job.
It is a far-reaching job action that affects many government departments, if not all.
National Defense workers have walked, as have those in the treasury board and crown corporations. The strike touches every province and territory in Canada. If you have business to do with the government you can expect delays while the strike is on.
If there’s any good news, it’s that the talks continue, as PSAC President Chris Aylward said when he announced the strike.
But he also says all 190,000 employees back the strike.
When it comes to your taxes, procrastinators should beware.
You could be in for some delays if you haven’t filed your 2022 return. If you have questions, it will be next to impossible to get someone on the phone to help you, and your return, if you’re due one, could be delayed.
