A decision at the top of Lanark Highlands has seen a seat open at the table which was filled for only four months.
In a social media post Monday, the Township informed its residents “the CAO position has become vacant,” and that Clerk Amanda Noel will be filling in as acting CAO.
Darlene Plumley was hired by the Township in January of this year.
Prior to joining Lanark Highlands, Plumley served as CAO/Clerk/Treasurer in the Township of Frontenac Islands for 9 years and CAO/Clerk in the Township of Stone Milles for 16, according to her LinkedIn profile.
No reason behind the decision was made public.

According to the agenda minutes, council moved into a closed session during their April 11th meeting to discuss “personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees,” and had Plumley and Noel remain in the room.
Council returned to an open session sixteen minutes later.
A pair of closed sessions meetings followed during the April 25th meeting, regarding a “Human resources matter.”
