16 family physicians across the town of Perth want to form a Perth Family Health Team.
As we told you earlier, Dr. Bob VanNoppen and Dr. Shelly Xu received a letter of support from the town to do exactly that, before making their way to Lanark County council chambers the following night seeking the same.
They believe receiving local support will boost their applications chances for provincial funding.
VanNoppen said they have three main goals to expand their services, and that includes bolstering their PEP (pep) program.
VanNoppen says if successful, this will allow them to personalize their mental health approach.
Another area of focus would be reducing the growing waitlist for a healthcare professional.
County council unanimously supported the application.
The submission deadline is June 16th.
