Tay Valley Township council expressed concerns about the province’s proposed new provincial-wide plan for land use planning in Ontario.
The removal of rural landscape protection and promotion of sprawl are particularly troubling for the township.
They also highlight the financial burden imposed by the plan and its inadequate approach to Indigenous consultation.
Additionally, the plan’s definition of attainable housing is deemed unaffordable for many residents.
Those interested can provide feedback on the plan before the August 4 deadline.
