Kevin Ramage pleaded guilty Thursday to second degree murder of a 36-year-old mother of four on a Boxing Day killing that enhanced the calls to end intimate partner violence.
The 40-year-old Smiths Falls resident was charged by Smiths Falls Police with first degree murder on December 26, 2021 following the slaying of Chantale LeBrun.
She died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Ramage’s guilty plea avoids a trial slated for next spring. He was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 16 years.
