Steps are being made to have a new General Motors car dealership in Perth.
At this week’s special public meeting, an application was reviewed for the Butler group’s plan for the prospective site at 65 Dufferin Street on Highway 7, just west of Canadian Tire.
The group submitted a rezoning application to council to accommodate a dealership and repair shop, with council showing interest in having certain conditions met such as limiting the number of shipping containers allowed on the site.
The town’s planning staff will work with the group to make various adjustments before bringing a bylaw ahead for approval at a future council meeting.
