Premier Doug Ford faced questions from reporters Thursday surrounding Housing Minister Steve Clark and if his inaction should cost him his job.
An auditor general report found the Ford government gave preferential treatment to certain developers in the land selection process, and an integrity commissioner found Wednesday Clark violated two sections of the Member’s Integrity Act for failing to oversee the process.
The ladder report recommended Clark be reprimanded. Ford was asked if that will happen.
Later in the day, Clark apologized for his role in matter.
He says he should’ve been more attentive throughout the land selection process as his former chief of staff Ryan Amato named developers.
Interim Ontario Liberal Leader John Fraser said e Clark’s apology was not enough.
He wants to see consequences for Clark’s actions.
Ford skirted questions about Clark facing any consequences, but did have a strong message for the developers who have a piece of the greenbelt.
The premier said he’s “done with that,” when asked if future parts of the greenbelt will be sold off.
