After nearly two years of construction, the Almonte downtown revitalization is done.
The goal was to replace water and sewer pipes that dated back to the 1930s.
The end result is 500 metres of new watermain, 400 metres of new sanitary sewers, and 300 metres of new storm sewers.
A Tourism Relief Fund grant also allowed for 11 matching benches, receptacles and bike racks along the main street.
New sidewalks, more trees, and much more were also added to give the area a new look.
