The Smiths Falls Heritage House Museum Strategic Plan received council endorsement.
It identifies six priorities to address over the next five years. They range from boosting its accessibility and community engagement to further investment in capital projects and marketing.
Councilor Chris McGuire’s pleased with what he saw.
The report also outlines the work required to ensure the building avoids falling into further disrepair.
That work, says Mayor Shawn Pankow, looks daunting.
18 of the 22 identified repairs and improvements in the report have been classified at least semi-urgent, five of which staff consider “very urgent.”
